Religion Obviously Important to Republicans

During tonight's GOP debate, the moderator introduced each candiate with a little window box showing their stats. I noticed that "Religion" was second on the list, only to age. Objectivly, religion came first on the stats for all the Republican cadidates. I feel like this shows how dedicated the Republicans are to the conservative religions. Also, I noticed that when Giuliani was talking about catching the Islamic terrorists from Fort Dix, he stated "Thank God" while putting his hands together and looking up.

When it came to my issue, Gay rights, questions did include the subject...slightly, but no candidate commented on that one subject. When Republican candidates would rather face questions about abortion, it could be a bad or good sign. It could mean that they are not thinking that gay rights are very important, but also it may mean that they think that their polls would decline if they don't support gay rights. Hopefully its the second.

Thought you might appreciate this quote by my home district Congressman, Spencer Bachus (R-AL, District 6):

"Bachus also condemned homosexual marriage as the worst threat to the nation. 'We could lose Iraq and survive; we lost Vietnam and survived, but if we lose this battle over gay marriage, we are doomed,' he said."

I'm irritated you think your marriage rights are more important than the right to life. Its extremely ridiculous; your same sex preference isnt murdering anyone. Abortion is.

Another thing I'd like to know is this: Why do you as a homosexual push for marriage rights even though marriage is a sacramental and truly religious binding? You seem to be pretty anti religious on this blog...
